The Fast Show, known as Brilliant in the US, was a BBC comedy sketch show programme starring Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, Simon Day, Mark Williams, John Thomson, Arabella Weir and Caroline Aherne (with an appearance from Johnny Depp in series 3). Some of the most popular characters in the show appeared to be those who were often present but never had any 'official' name, being tightly written to give their catchphrase/punchline and end the sketch.
